Daikin Installation Highlight
Today we wanted to highlight a recent install done by JM Mechanical’s commercial team on a new construction house in Northern Kentucky. This installation features the Daikin VRV system along with a Daikin Fit and modulating furnace. JM Mechanical is leading the way with new technology in the greater Cincinnati area to provide your home with all its heating and air conditioning needs.

Why Daikin?
Daikin is a worldwide company leading the way when it comes to your heating and air conditioning needs. Millions of systems have been sold in over 140 countries and they continue to be the leader in the air conditioning world. Daikin units give you full control of your indoor environment. Daikin allows the flexibility needed to heat and cool your entire home with products ranging from gas furnaces and heat pumps to air handlers and coils.
The Daikin Advantage
Let’s get into what made this installation so unique. This 9,000 sq. ft home has a lot of space that needs heating and cooling. That’s where Daikin comes into play. The first floor and basement are controlled by the Fit units while the second floor is controlled by the VRV. There is also an additional unit on the opposite side of the house totaling 4 outdoor units and 13 tons of cooling. Daikin systems were created to seamlessly work together while providing a quiet and energy efficient system. Both systems use what is called variable-speed Inverter Technology, which means the compressor is continuously running but automatically adjusts the compressor’s speed to meet the demand of the home. The Inverter Technology helps to avoid the temperature shifts that often come with traditional units and allows a more energy efficient unit.
The Daikin Fit system is a side discharge unit that connects to traditional ducts, like the typical cube-style units, but the Fit allows you to take back your outdoor space without compromising comfort within your home all year round. Space saving, energy efficient and incredibly quiet, it will “fit” the needs of any home or space.
The Daikin VRV Life has many of the same qualities as the Fit. It is a quiet, compact, energy efficient unit but the “VRV” portion is what makes this Daikin equipment the star of this install. VRV stands for variable refrigerant volume. There is the outdoor unit that is connected to the indoor units by refrigerant piping. The refrigerant circulates from the outside unit to the inside units. This specific system has five indoor units that allows there to be five “zones”. There are two cassettes in the ceiling and three concealed ducted mini splits. The zoning technology allows full control of each environment and you no longer waste money and energy heating or cooling rooms that aren’t used. The VRV uses Inverter Technology along with special electronic valves to allow precise control over both the compressor speed and the amount of refrigerant flowing to individual inside units based on what each zone needs at any given moment.
